About Hypnosis Seattle

The Hypnosis Seattle website provides information about hypnosis and hypnosis related therapy, as well as a means to contact hypnotherapists in the Seattle area. Rowan Peacock took over in 2001, acquiring the site from a previous teacher turned mentor. In the years that have followed, Hypnosis Seattle has developed into a strong private practice and referral source in the Seattle area, as well as a well-known and useful information source for hypnosis related questions.

I have had the privilege and honor of helping people reach their inner wisdom, find perspective, and heal themselves for over 20 years. In that time, I've learned and developed a deep respect for the human psyche - for our strength and our resilience. I have furthered my formal education, of course, and more importantly, I've learned from experience. Every client has been a teacher. So I take what I've learned, from books and teachers, from seminars, research and study, and from every person to whom I've listened, and I offer it to each new client that comes in my door.

My approach bridges the gap between a purely scientific, somewhat skeptical approach, and a purely spiritual and 'faith based' approach. I've needed a balance of the two for my own healing, and I truly believe that both schools of thought offer powerful lessons. I've studied the mind extensively, and its connection to our experience of the body. I believe in the power of the tools and techniques I've gleaned over the years, and have found them to be universal. They span many different practices, philosophies, and healing methods. I have taken delight in seeing the commonality in different modalities, and distilling it down to what really works - regardless of background or belief.

I research, teach, and apply a multitude of techniques, most of them hypnotic in nature. I have been teaching these techniques to other practitioners, as well as individuals looking to apply them to their own healing, for over 15 years. As well as teaching seminars on different processes and topics for many years, I have been a guest instructor for hypnosis certification courses. I mentor new hypnotherapists and counselors, as well, in an effort to share with them what my teachers and mentors have so generously shared with me over the years.

Prior to establishing my private practice with Hypnosis Seattle, I used my training and listening skills in various corporate and private venues, often as a consultant, always working to help people achieve their best. Although I currently see clients with a wide range of challenges and goals, I specialize in helping people learn to release stress and relieve chronic pain.

Certified Hypnotist, Certified NeuroLinguistic Hypnotherapist, Certified NeuroLinguistic Coach. NLP and Hypnosis certification acquired at Bennett/Stellar University (recognized by the Professional Board of Hypnotherapy, the National Guild of Hypnotists, and The Society of NeuroLinguistic Programming). I continue always to educate myself and research a myriad of healing modalities, bringing them together in a highly unique and effective fashion.
